20,000 Hours Accident / Incident Free

 

Congratulations to the Weltec team working on the Sanofi QC Lab Reconfiguration Project who have reached 20,000 hours accident/incident-free. We would like to also commend the team from Sanofi for supporting a safe work environment. We strive every day to ensure the workplace is a safe environment for all our people and those we work alongside. At Weltec, we believe that safety innovation comes from individuals and teams and we continuously and actively encourage all our staff members to provide their input and point of view for increased safety performance. WELTEC Engineering is the Main Contractor & PSCS on the project. Weltec’s key responsibilities are Planning, H&S, Meeting Deadlines (milestones), and Managing COVID-19 (using the WELTEC QR Code).

The Project Consists of Refurbishing Existing Lab Areas, Construction of New 2-8˚C Cold Product Storage Unit and Installation of M&E Services.

John Murphy

Quality Director

John is the company Quality Director with overall responsibility for all Quality activities and resources. He is hugely experienced, having worked for many years in the Pharma and Manufacturing before joining Weltec in 2014. He holds qualifications in Chemistry, Quality Assurance, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Masters in Business Administration.  He has been instrumental in the company’s continuous implementation of new and improved quality standards across all engineering and construction activities. He has also been the key driver in ensuring we fully understand our customer expectations and needs and that we have developed and implemented the quality control processes to meet and exceed these expectations.

Joe McGivney

General Manager, Electrical

Joe is a IPMA certified Project Manager and as General Manager Joe takes a key role in project proposals, project development, construction operations, and communication with all key stakeholders. He applies his extensive engineering and project management experience acquired over his 40 year successful career. He has delivered complex projects across many sectors including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, ICT Manufacturing and Healthcare.

James Hackett

EHS Director

James is EHS Director and holds a BSc in Management and a H-Dip in Health, Safety & Welfare at Work from UCC. Working closely with the operations director, general manager and contract managers, James has full responsibility all EHS activities and resources across the company. James has been instrumental in directing the company to achieving world-class EHS practices, which have been recognised by NISO with the company winning the Bronze Overall Award and twice winning the Presidents Award for Large Organisations over a 4 year period.

Shane Ryan

Operations Director

Shane holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from UL and as Operations Director he is centrally involved in the direction and execution of all construction operations. He focuses on assembling multi-disciplinary teams to deliver large-scale complex turnkey projects and creating sustainable ongoing partnerships. He has extensive engineering and project management experience across different sectors including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Industrial and Food.

Gerard O’Leary

Managing Director

Gerard is the Managing Director and one of the original founders of Weltec Engineering in Waterford over 20 years ago. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from CIT and a Masters in Business Administration from UCC. He has 30 years experience in the engineering and construction industries and has been instrumental in the development of the company into a leading engineering and process contractor.
