Apprenticeship Programme
As long established engineers and contractors, Weltec is at the forefront in offering mechanical and electrical apprenticeships to enthusiastic and committed students and also to those who wish to change career for an exciting hands on challenge with endless opportunities. As an organisation that values the potential that you, as an apprentice can bring, we are committed to your development as you undertake your journey to becoming a qualified Electrician*, Fitter or Plumber. There are a number of key components to our Apprenticeship programme.
Induction Process: An initial Induction process ensures into that you have the necessary information and tools to commence the journey of becoming a highly skilled and qualified tradesperson.
On the job learning: We ensure that you will be learning from the best tradespeople and supervisors, that your experience will be varied and tracked and that you will be given an opportunity to demonstrate the skill and experience you have developed.
Mentors: We have a dedicated team of mentors who will offer advise and guidance on reaching your individual goals.
Evaluation & Feedback: Our evaluation process is challenging and encouraging as we will assist you to achieve the high standards required to become a qualified tradesperson.
Apprentice of the Year: Each year we run an Apprentice of the year award scheme in both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines.
*Please note the minimum Grade of C3 in Leaving Certificate Ordinary Level Maths is required for eligibility to the Weltec Electrical Apprenticeship Programme.




Graduate Programme
At Weltec , we are committed to recruiting the best graduates and developing them to become the business leaders of tomorrow. We continuously invest in the training and development of our people and provide the support and experience that will help to fulfil your potential.
We provide a structured programme of development through a combination of on-site and office-based experience, exposure to varied roles and formal training and development with internal and external courses.
Our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system is accredited by Engineers Ireland and we were one of the first engineering contractors to achieve this recognition in 2011. We believe in continuous professional development to maintain our competitive edge in a fast paced ever changing industry.
We support and encourage graduates to pursue chartered status in their respective fields. We also offer formal training courses for Engineers with Engineers Ireland’s Future Professionals Series, Certificate and Diploma in Professional Engineering and to future Project Managers with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification training. We also encourage and support graduates to undertake Masters programmes and provide you with time to study for your professional qualifications.
