University Hospital Limerick
University Hospital Limerick is the Model 4 hospital for the region providing major surgery, cancer treatment and care, emergency department services, as well as a range of other medical, diagnostic and therapy services. It is where all critical care services are located in addition to a 24/7/365 Emergency Department and it is a designated cancer centre.
Cork University Hospital, Radiation Oncology Centre
The CUH Radiation and oncology hospital in cork is a state of the art 9,000m2 cancer hospital with 5 linear accelerators, 2 CT suites, HDR and Brachy theatres and associated plant spaces. Working with BAM we completed the complex and integrated mechanical and electrical services in this 250 room hospital .
South Infirmary University Hospital Campus
The South Infirmary-Victoria University Hospital is a elective surgical hospital in Cork. Working with Arup & Sisk we completed the mechanical and electrical specialist Installation works for a 2,250 m2, 3 story extension consisting of 3 full operating theatre suites, a recovery bay, staff and patient rooms, waiting rooms, changing rooms and associated plant spaces.
University Hospital Waterford
UHW is a general hospital located in Ardkeen Waterford. This project on the existing campus consisted of the extension, refurbishment and fit out of the existing emergency department, a new neonatal suite and a new CT scanning unit. We completed the mechanical and electrical specialist Installation works for the project covering an area of 4,700m2.
Marymount Hospital
Marymount Hospital is a respite and palliative care hospital for the elderly in Curraheen Cork. 3 ward blocks for 144 patients and a administration block are built around a central atrium block. Working with Varmings and BAM we completed the mechanical specialist installation works on this unique world-class facility .

John Murphy

Quality Director

John is the company Quality Director with overall responsibility for all Quality activities and resources. He is hugely experienced, having worked for many years in the Pharma and Manufacturing before joining Weltec in 2014. He holds qualifications in Chemistry, Quality Assurance, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Masters in Business Administration.  He has been instrumental in the company’s continuous implementation of new and improved quality standards across all engineering and construction activities. He has also been the key driver in ensuring we fully understand our customer expectations and needs and that we have developed and implemented the quality control processes to meet and exceed these expectations.

Joe McGivney

General Manager, Electrical

Joe is a IPMA certified Project Manager and as General Manager Joe takes a key role in project proposals, project development, construction operations, and communication with all key stakeholders. He applies his extensive engineering and project management experience acquired over his 40 year successful career. He has delivered complex projects across many sectors including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, ICT Manufacturing and Healthcare.

James Hackett

EHS Director

James is EHS Director and holds a BSc in Management and a H-Dip in Health, Safety & Welfare at Work from UCC. Working closely with the operations director, general manager and contract managers, James has full responsibility all EHS activities and resources across the company. James has been instrumental in directing the company to achieving world-class EHS practices, which have been recognised by NISO with the company winning the Bronze Overall Award and twice winning the Presidents Award for Large Organisations over a 4 year period.

Shane Ryan

Operations Director

Shane holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from UL and as Operations Director he is centrally involved in the direction and execution of all construction operations. He focuses on assembling multi-disciplinary teams to deliver large-scale complex turnkey projects and creating sustainable ongoing partnerships. He has extensive engineering and project management experience across different sectors including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Industrial and Food.

Gerard O’Leary

Managing Director

Gerard is the Managing Director and one of the original founders of Weltec Engineering in Waterford over 20 years ago. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from CIT and a Masters in Business Administration from UCC. He has 30 years experience in the engineering and construction industries and has been instrumental in the development of the company into a leading engineering and process contractor.
