Working with Prochem, we provided the utilities and process pipework services for project Tuba along with the shutdown to tie in the required services.

We have completed a large number of complex services projects in the Waterford site as main contractor and Services contractor including Fill Finish building Formulation Suite upgrade, Fill Finish Line realignment project, Refrigerated warehouse, Analytical lab and Utilities projects.
Eirgen Pharma (Project Desha)
Eirgen Pharma is a world leading developer and commercial supplier of specialty medicines to the global market. Working with Fewer Harrington, we completed the full turnkey development of their new R&D, OSD and fill finish facility and the addition of a packing hall to their existing facility.
Alkermes Pharmaceutical Building
Alkermes is a fully integrated global biopharmaceutical company and a leader in innovative medicines. We were nominated as the Mechanical & Electrical installation specialist for the Glatt 120 Project in Alkermes Pharmaceuticals, Athlone, which also incorporated a commercial tabletting cleanroom suite.
Regeneron Ireland – QA/QC Laboratory
Regeneron are a global biotechnology company and a leader in human antibody technologies. Working with the PM Group, we were nominated as the Mechanical Installation Specialist for the QA/QC Lab building in Regeneron’s Biopharmaceutical plant in Raheen Limerick.
EirGen Pharma Packing Hall
Eirgen Pharma is a world leading developer and commercial supplier of speciality medicines to the global market. Weltec completed the full turnkey development of their new packing hall, warehouse and associated plant areas to their existing facility. Scope Fit-out of new Packing Halls, incorporating 3 no. packing halls, staff lockers, parts wash room, clean corridor, toilets and meeting room.

John Murphy

Quality Director

John is the company Quality Director with overall responsibility for all Quality activities and resources. He is hugely experienced, having worked for many years in the Pharma and Manufacturing before joining Weltec in 2014. He holds qualifications in Chemistry, Quality Assurance, a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and a Masters in Business Administration.  He has been instrumental in the company’s continuous implementation of new and improved quality standards across all engineering and construction activities. He has also been the key driver in ensuring we fully understand our customer expectations and needs and that we have developed and implemented the quality control processes to meet and exceed these expectations.

Joe McGivney

General Manager, Electrical

Joe is a IPMA certified Project Manager and as General Manager Joe takes a key role in project proposals, project development, construction operations, and communication with all key stakeholders. He applies his extensive engineering and project management experience acquired over his 40 year successful career. He has delivered complex projects across many sectors including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, ICT Manufacturing and Healthcare.

James Hackett

EHS Director

James is EHS Director and holds a BSc in Management and a H-Dip in Health, Safety & Welfare at Work from UCC. Working closely with the operations director, general manager and contract managers, James has full responsibility all EHS activities and resources across the company. James has been instrumental in directing the company to achieving world-class EHS practices, which have been recognised by NISO with the company winning the Bronze Overall Award and twice winning the Presidents Award for Large Organisations over a 4 year period.

Shane Ryan

Operations Director

Shane holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from UL and as Operations Director he is centrally involved in the direction and execution of all construction operations. He focuses on assembling multi-disciplinary teams to deliver large-scale complex turnkey projects and creating sustainable ongoing partnerships. He has extensive engineering and project management experience across different sectors including Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, Industrial and Food.

Gerard O’Leary

Managing Director

Gerard is the Managing Director and one of the original founders of Weltec Engineering in Waterford over 20 years ago. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering from CIT and a Masters in Business Administration from UCC. He has 30 years experience in the engineering and construction industries and has been instrumental in the development of the company into a leading engineering and process contractor.
